The weather’s getting cold here, and it was nice to warm up my hand – well, left hand only but it was nice to be able to easily access that heat.
Yamaha did something similar: the stock seat can be raised or lowered by 38 MM in just seconds.
I don’t have the smallest hands at 5’10” and 180lbs I think my hand are quite normal and I wear a size large glove.
We really need to spend more time on the machine, and specifically in some hard core off road conditions.
I have been following your on-going farkle development and I am sure I will be in touch once it gets closer to May."We really need to spend more time on the machine, and specifically in some hard core off road conditions." Yes, you do! if you compare it to the BMW 1200GS there is a huge difference in weight i THINK. i am 6'5" and it feels like i would have no problem riding it all day. I'm 5'7.5" - and find the bike suits me ok with seat in low position. So far, Extremely Comfortable, Suspension like no other, braking is the best and powerful in "S" mode. Greetings from costa Rica I just picked up the first Super Tenere available in Ventura, CA yesterday and WOW !! I am 6' tall and have the seat in the low position and my feet are flat on the ground. More dealers and less expensive service/maintenance than with BMW.
Everyone who keeps making assumptions about the ABS on this bike compared to any other motorcycle ABS off-road really needs to ride it in the conditions they are worried about. if you compare it to the BMW 1200GS there is a huge difference in weight i THINK. i am 6'5" and it feels like i would have no problem riding it all day. i finally got to sit on and inspect the Tenerre(1200). I like the handle bar position - having ridden a Triumph T'Bird for last six years. It is replacing my FJR 1300 that was totaled when l was T-bones, and yes I was injured and took 18 months to get back to riding. It runs like a top like the BMW and the shifting is precise and solid, throttle by wire is very responsive, the unified braking system is great in a panic stop and is very controlled in routine braking situations, and the bike is so well balanced that it feels much lighter than it is. I am a HD Rider - so this bike is a huge departure for me - but at 5'11" and many more lbs that I should be - it is a lot of fun to ride.
A lot of you have been asking us about the new Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z, and for good reason.
